Why minimal access

The same operation, through a much smaller door.

Minimal access surgery works through small ports, a camera, a laser fibre or a needle instead of one long incision. For most patients this changes the recovery more than the operation itself.

01

Smaller incisions

Ports of 5 to 10 mm in place of a long cut, so there is less tissue to heal.

02

Shorter hospital stay

Many hernia, gallbladder and vein procedures are day care or a one-night stay.

03

Back to routine sooner

Most desk workers are back at work in about a week, with a written plan for lifting and exercise.

04

Reachable after surgery

Patients keep a direct line to Dr. Sanjit for questions while they recover.

FAQs

Questions patients ask first

Short, straight answers. For anything about your own case, send your report on WhatsApp and Dr. Sanjit's team will guide you.

Ask on WhatsApp
Where does Dr. Sanjit Gogoi consult?+

Dr. Sanjit consults at two places on Sarjapur Main Road: SPARSH Hospital, Carmelaram (10 am to 5 pm) and his evening clinic at SGR-2, Doddakannelli (5 pm to 8 pm). Both are about 15 to 30 minutes by road from Bellandur, HSR Layout and Koramangala.

What are the consultation timings?+

Monday to Saturday: 10 am to 5 pm at SPARSH Hospital, Sarjapur Road, and 5 pm to 8 pm at the evening clinic in Doddakannelli. Closed on Sundays. Consultations are by appointment on +91 99160 26256.

Which hospital is he associated with?+

He is a consultant surgeon at SPARSH Hospital, Sarjapur Road, where he consults and operates during the day.

What are his qualifications?+

MBBS (Kathmandu University), MS in General Surgery (Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka) and MRCS from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, with about 18 years in general, laparoscopic and laser surgery.

Can my hernia be repaired laparoscopically?+

Most inguinal, umbilical and incisional hernias, including many recurrent ones, can be repaired through small keyhole ports with a mesh. The right approach depends on the size and type of hernia and any earlier surgery, and is decided at the consultation.

How long is recovery after gallbladder or hernia surgery?+

Many patients go home within 24 hours and return to desk work in about a week. Heavy lifting is usually avoided for four to six weeks. Your exact plan depends on the procedure and your health.

Are varicose veins treated without a large cut?+

Yes. Endovenous laser ablation (EVLA) and glue treatment close the faulty vein from inside through a needle puncture under ultrasound guidance, usually as a day-care procedure.
